So this week I had probably one of the most terrifying experiences of my health journey. I was sitting at my desk, like every other Tuesday afternoon, after work, getting ready to hit the textbooks when I lost all feeling in the right side of my body – face, arm, hand, leg and foot. I recently celebrated my 21st birthday so we – my parents, brother and his girlfriend and then myself and my best friend – decided to go away somewhere quaint and surrounded by nature. My mom chose the place – Klip River Cabin in Grabouw. Continue reading
I choose me. Three simple words that are incredibly difficult to maintain and live by. I am like my mother in the sense that I put other people and their happiness before my own – which is probably not that great for my self-love and sanity. Continue reading
Mother’s Day. Two simple words that send shopping centers into an absolute frenzy to create and concoct the perfect gift sets to surprise your mother with. While everything looks lovely and smells lovely, what is Mother’s Day actually about? Continue reading
Since making the diet change that I did, I have wanted to echo that in the beauty products I use – whether it’s makeup or shampoo and conditioner or creams. I’m super excited that I found an all natural, all-vegan product that my hair and skin loves. Continue reading
So I decided to take a break from blogging for an undisclosed time period, which ended up being around a 18 months. There was just so much going on around me and inside that needed some attention and to be honest, I lost hope. Continue reading
So for the last few months, I’ve been using the Rimmel London Lasting Finish foundation and it worked fantastically until the last few weeks. The latest tube had started causing skin irritation and a tingling sensation all over my face as well as having a much more of an “orange” tint to it even though I used the same shade month after month.
A friend of mine who is also a make-up wizard mentioned the NYX Cosmetics line and how it was cruelty free – it falls into my lifestyle as I’m on the road to being vegan and spend all my free time at an animal rescue organisation helping to fix the damage humans cause to the innocent furkids – and also it is completely safe.
I did a tester on my skin and waited 24 hours but viola! NO REACTION!
I was so happy and relieved that it hadn’t caused any burn or break outs or dry and flaky skin.
So I went and had a mini shopping haul and purchased NYX foundation, concealer, powder, liquid liner, setting spray and primer.
Combine this amazing brand with my amazing Nimue face wash and moisturiser and I now have healthy and happy skin again.
NYX has great coverage and great products and me having such a sensitive skin, it also keeps it clear after a full day of wear.
Let’s just say I’m a happy customer!
I was so excited by the product that I had a little play and experiment session. 😀
Happy skin and cruelty free make-up makes me a very happy Megan.
